Comments, regarding a paucity of published reports on this, are true. However, whether the statement is true or not may be questioned. Those of us who have (either alone or in our practice groups) used both agents can give some insight. My own experience is that the slight shakiness one gets acutely after a dose of terbutaline is not near as significant as a fainting spell because of hypotension after nifedipine. I much prefer a group of patients who have a little nervousness generally, than a group of patients in which one or two of them fall down on occasion.
