lactose intolerance and OCPFrom: Terrence.Jones@ncal.kaiperm.orgThu Mar 28 21:26:40 1996
Might try one of the commercially-avail lactase preparations. Tho LACTAID had the lowest breath hydrogen levels after an 18 gm load, LACTRASE, followed by DAIRY EASE, offered the best symptom relief (Ramirez, Am J Gastroent 4/94, 89: 566-70). However, varied dosing influences efficacy (Lin, Dig Dis Sci 11/93, 38: 2022-7). As always, local mileage may vary, and GI intolerance may be more related to those wonderfully aromatic Italian spices... :) TJ/KSF

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
