Back pain and pregnancyFrom: Bill Katz (katz@maine.com)Tue Mar 26 19:31:17 1996
To the group: Any thoughts on management of a 25 y.o. nulip (significant other with vasectomy) referred by her family doc secondary to bilateral septated 13 centimeter ovarian masses? She's not pregnant (molar or otherwise) and has not used any ovulation inducing drugs. Other than a protruberant abdomen, she is relatively assymptomatic. I can't think of any other functional causes which seems to leave neoplasia. Any role for a short course of GnRH analogues just for a brief attempt at suppression. It seems if I attempt surgery she will probably end with a bilateral oophorectomy. Serum quantitative HCG and Ca-125 pending.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
