While a sudden decrease in insulin requirements is a cause for concern, I am not aware of anyone recommending premature delivery based on this finding alone. Over the past few (10-15) years, I have seen much less dependence placed on this as a sign of fetal distress. Some have even considered this to be a normal variant.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
