At 29 weeks with leakage of amniotic fluid, I would treat empirically for Group B Beta streptococcus infection, perhaps adding metronidazole for Gardernella vaginalis. If there is no fever or leukocytosis, then antenatal steroids with Betamethasone, 12 mg. can be given. I would not usually give tocolytics. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
