I am a L&D R.N. who circulates in the OR. I would allow the daughter in the OR, after you prepare her with a film or with some other pre-op teaching. We have allowed more than one support persons in the OR before (i.e., for language translation). If there is any hint of a problem - ask her to sit outside the OR & look in. Because this is a PLANNED c/s, you have more control over the environment than you think.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
