Re: Bad day at the clinicFrom: J J Walker (msjjjw@gps.leeds.ac.uk)Fri Mar 15 17:16:56 1996
Hearing and seeing the news from Dunblane brought great sadness for a place I know so well from my childhood. We used to stay at Dunblane Hydro for holiday breaks. My parents and my wife are all from the Stirling/Falkirk area. My Maternal Grandfather was deputy Chief Constable of Stirlingshire and my Paternal Grandfather was a teacher and headmaster in schools around that area. What on earth would they have made of these events. Seeing Jack Beattie (my year) talking on the television increased my grief. He must have found the experience beyond comprehension. Having to go to that school to care for the children and find so many dead must have stretched his professional skills to the limits. My best man, Ken MacArthur, a cardiac surgeon at Yorkhill was probably involved with those who were send to Glasgow. It does put the problems of day to day life into stark contrasts. So many lifes ruined for ever. May thoughts are with you Stewart and all those involved in Stirling and Dunblane. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
