Cheri Van Hoover makes an interesting point regarding vaginal deliveries of breech presentation: perhaps it boils down to comfort level. Although I have only been in OB 13 years, I think residency programs of years past had the opportunity to teach breech delivery more often than now in the U.S. And perhaps this would account for the willingness of British-trained OB's to allow breech delivery. I suspect they have more opportunities to learn them in a supervised, academic setting than their US counterparts. Another $0.02. Elizabeth Davidson, CNM

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
