Vacuum extractor...other usesFrom: Cahill, Charles W. (CCAHILL@library.bhs.org)Fri Dec 15 10:54:27 1995
Maybe not for breeches, but for large dermoids at laparotomy, the delivery of the ovary (6-10 cm) is facilitated by the application of the extractor on low suction...insertion of the hand or deaver or even a Meerless head extractor can compromise the size of the incision...there was an article with a photo in one of the obgyn journals about 5 yrs ago. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
