The only way that we can be compared with our peers is if we all practice in a similar manner. In these days of managed care we have to accept that our practices will be subjected to outcomes management. I have a problem with the idea of putting protocols on a web page for God and everyone out there to see. For the time being I suggest we send them via the List. Let's choose a subject (OK Geff, you can be the benevolent dictator and make a choice) like induction of labor and everyone who wished can submit what they use. Then after everyone has contributed to the discussion perhaps we can come up with standard protocols that are acceptable to all. Here in San Antonio I am in a 5 person OBGYN group but we are part of a city wide OBGYN group that is capitating with some managed care organizations. We are begining to develop protocols for everyone to adhere to. We would be happy to help get this organized. Peter

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
