they are in a tough spot, but they do NOT have a valid point. expect more of these scenarios as the legal-insurance complex takes over the practice of medicine. all they have to do is a bleeding time to assess the real risk from so-called thrombocytopenia. at 130,000 platelets, many normal parturients will be unfairly denied the benefits of epidural anesthesia. have a merry and a happy! art fougner

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
