they are in a tough spot, but they do NOT have a valid point. expect more of these scenarios as the legal-insurance complex takes over the practice of medicine. all they have to do is a bleeding time to assess the real risk from so-called thrombocytopenia. at 130,000 platelets, many normal parturients will be unfairly denied the benefits of epidural anesthesia.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
