Subarachnoid hemorrhage after deliveryFrom: Dr MG Schoon - Obst & Gin. (GNOGMGS@med.uovs.ac.za)Fri Dec 8 05:10:15 1995
We have a 32 yr G2P1 who was sectioned for a mild pre-eclampsia and twins 6 days ago. On the second day after delivery we had difficulty in controling her bloodpressure and she complained of severe headache, initially thought to be of high doses nifedipine. She developed neck stiffness and a CT scan of the brain was done without any significant pathology. There was blood on the LP. An Angiogram of the brain show bloodvessels that are dilated with segments of narrowing. Our neurosurgeons think of a vasculitis. Does anyone have any experience with this type of complication? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
