Abruptio vivax ???From: Pete Bridgwood (pete@innotts.co.uk)Thu Dec 7 10:38:04 1995
Hi Folks, My friend Richard in New Zealand has asked me to post this: Can you do another favour for me please? We had a woman who had an abruption and then was discovered to have malaria (P. Vivax) when we investigated her fever. The pathologist demonstrated parasites in the placenta. I've got a vague inkling that placental malaria and abruption are connected but can't remember where I read it or find a reference for it anywhere. Is it possible to circulate it on your O&G user group to see if anyone out there has any ideas. If they do I'd be grateful for some feedback +/- any references they may have. Medline was no help. If you mail any info about this to the list, please E-mail Richard personally as well/instead as he's using the Prof's computer and has no access to this list himself. His E-mail is: Thanks, Pete.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
