I’ll give you that DRGs created a mess that we are still dealing with were due to government. >From my point of view, the problem is primarily from the health care If we reform health care with a model of those nations most successful in the world, I believe we can do better. If the medical community fights reform, they will have less influence in the reorganization. In general I am no socialist, but I do believe that some parts of the economy are better organized for the benefit of all, including firefighting, streets and highways, and now, health care. I do not want anyone telling me what auto I can purchase, what pretty shirt I can wear, or what art I can make, sell, or buy; but health care is a basic right in my opinion. The corporate health insurance model is bankrupting our companies, which is why Japan has taken over auto markets while ours flounder. I do believe that capitalistic individual incentives are best, but the corporations are corrupting that system. Ayn Rand’s and her “Howard Roark’s” super-individualism are ridiculous and absurd. They forgot that “No man is an island.” And the “Greed is Good” philosophy will lead to ruin.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
