On January 13, 2009, the Center for Disease Control announced that sexual diseases including Chlamydia are on the increase in the United States after declining for most of the past decade. The 2007 data shows a 7.5% increase from the prior year, 2006.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit.
