Yes I know I need the psych consult ....

But ... the economics of maintaining a solo gyn practice in this county in NH with really low reimbursements and the rest of the docs in a monopoly and not likely to get someone to move to Keene for a gyn practice.

If I relocate it would be the corridor from Springfield, Mass east to Boston area then north to Bangor Maine (lots of lifelong friends along that corridor). OR the Portland Oregon area where my daughter and her fiance are settling in.

Florida has no draw at all for me. I like Winter. While Portland doesn't usually have any significant winter - it is nearby in the mountains.

As I have begun some work with recruiters, it is evident that there are not a lot of Ob positions out there.

Add to that, my former employer (the monopoly) is really really needing to add Obs (various local issues for them) and have been intermittently talking with me about returning with Ob refresher ... So it would increase my recruiting options if / when I do move to live closer to my daughter (and future grandchildren). My son is not settling down and has skills that can go anywhere there is the outdoors and snow. (wilderness EMT and Senior Ski Patroller)

So that is my story for the crazy idea.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
