Re: The Ironclad Rules of Medicare:From: Gordon Goldman (obgyndoc@swbell.net)Fri Apr 24 19:52:23 2009
Just because it is EBM, doesn't mean it is in your patient's best interest. Just because it is in your patient's best interest, doesn't mean they will allow it (ala mammogram, Pap, DEXA, Colonoscopy) Just because it is in your patient's best interest and they will allow it, doesn't mean your patient will do it. Just because your patient gets it done, doesn't mean you will ever get the report without threatening the performing facility. Just because your patient gets it done and you never get the report, doesn't mean you are not liable. And so it goes on ad nauseam on a daily basis. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
