Re: VBAC dying art>From: Dr. Ainsworth (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Tue Mar 31 14:53:26 2009
I think who writes the code is very important, As Captain Barbossa said in Pirates of the Caribbean: "And secondly, you must be a pirate for the pirate's code to apply and you're not. And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules." The pirates who wrote this code haven't personally delivered a baby in the middle of the night since they finished residency, let alone personally watched a VBAC in labor. However, they will certainly testify in court if you haven't followed "the code." -----Original Message----- From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net] On Behalf Of Dr Eberhard W Lisse Sent: Tuesday, March 31, 2009 1:43 AM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: Re: VBAC dying art> Question is not whether a small hospital can meet guidelines, question is whether the guidelines are right or wrong. el

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
