I was just answering Dan's question on why a LSH would work if thought she had CA, not that I would always perform a hysterectomy under these circumstances. HOWEVER, I do offer hysterectomies for patients remote from conception as an alternative for persistent abnormal paps

I could not have said it better, and I can do either a TLH or a TVH.

Why make incisions you don't need?

Why increase OR time (OK, for most of us) and expense?

Richard, has anyone proven superiority of a TLH versus a TVH? Seems like that would be hard to do.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
