Yes. Maternal deaths from perinatal causes have decreased by 99% in the US in the 20th century(CDC).
Deaths from perinatal causes now less than auto deaths in pregnant women or death by homicide from abusing males.
We ( The US) are still 30th in the world..so could we do better..YES!
