Re: Pubic Symphysis SeparationFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Thu Oct 30 11:15:37 2008
It is rare in US. May be debilitating at least for first 3-6 months. If severe ie pubic syphysis separation of more than 2-3 cm on xray consider orthopedics and use of plate and screws to close symphysis. Other listers will not be in favor of this but it is an option that should be offered. agf Date: Thu, 30 Oct 2008 11:42:28 -0500From: Stmidwife@aol.comTo: ob-gyn-l@mail.obgyn.netSubject: Pubic Symphysis Separation I am wondering how often you see a Pubic Symphysis separation in your practice that is debilitating and what the treatment is worldwide? I am aware of physical therapy, support belt and bedrest, just wondering if there is more? The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
