OBGYN WRVU's

Listers,   Our local hospital is soliciting practices to accept acquisition into an "integrated physician practice/hospital organization"...its presented as a different slice of pie than the process wherein hospitals bought up practices and clinics in the nineties.   One of the talking points is a reimbursement model based on WRVU's with md's paid a set amount for WRVU, independent of the hospital's ability or inablility to convert that WRVU volume into cash receivables.   Does anyone have familiarity with this method, and - most especially of interest to me - an idea of what ObGyn WRVU's would typically be valued at under such plans? Off line comments appreciated. Disclaimer: I am not soliciting or promoting a consensus of market valuation of physician services but am interested in awareness of publicly known figures. MGMA, AMA, ACOG and search engine efforts have not been helpful.   Thanks.   Hank

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
