I think that depends on the circumstances -- for skinny 28 year old G2P2, probably not, but for a woman over 40, or one who is obese or has a history of anovulation, then I certianly think an EMB or office hysteroscopy is a darn good idea. Personally, I don't like using DepoProvera for treatment of bleeding -- it takes too long, the patient is stuck with it, and irregular bleeding is a common side effect. For non-surgical treatment of menorrhagia, the Mirena IUD can work extremely well and is well tolerated.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education.
