Re: procardia and magnesiumFrom: Dean Huffman . (dean@thehuffpeople.net)Wed May 14 18:28:55 2008
.. Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan, use Procardia and IV MgSSO4 simultanesously for many many hears and never had a probem that I know of. Needless to say, there was quite a bit of discussion among the MFM staff about the wisdome of this policy, but as far as I know, there was never a problem. If you want to contact somebody who is currently there, write to me off the list and I will give you a name and phone number. - - - - From: Glen Elrod <dr99645@yahoo.com> Subject: procardia and magnesium Date: May 14, 2008 6:52 PM I know that procardia and magnesium should not be given together. But, does anyone know how long you need to have a patient off procardia before starting mag? For instance, someone on procardia for preterm labor and presents with breakthrough labor. Thanks, Glen

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
