Re: vbac on demandFrom: Garry E. Siegel, M.D. (garrys@mindspring.com)Sun May 11 10:09:51 2008
1. I may have missed this--Dr. Nellsch, please introduce yourself to the list. 2. That said, ACOG has does not think that a VBAC is appropriate after two cesareans in the absence of a prior vaginal delivery. This is simple--tell her you cannot participate in a VBAC and that you advise a Cesarean now. If she refuses, have her sign a homemade refusal form. Since one can't operate on someone without consent, you're stuck sitting there with her until she labors/delvers or agrees. Then, all in the anesthetist and OR crew and ask them to sit with you. If they won't/can't/refuse, time to call the chief of staff and head nurse. That's my 2 cents. Garry Killing time waiting for a flight from Madrid to Rome with the family :)

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
