Re: LAVH on a Uterus DidelphusFrom: R. Daniel Braun (rd.braun@gmail.com)Sun Apr 27 11:22:47 2008
Uterus didelphys is a total duplication of uterus, cervix, and vagina. Duplication of the fundus only is uterus bicornis unicolles and duplication of fundus and cervix is uterus bicornis bicolles. In order to have a didelphys, there needs to be a vaginal septum. Hyst should not be complicated, but I would evaluate the ureters preop. There is a high incidence of ureteral anomalies associated with uterine duplication. BTW, over the years, I have made the initial diagnosis of uterine duplication 23 times at the time of a repeat C/S where the 1st C/S had been for breech and no one had bothered to look for a duplication. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
