Re: Male partner association with anembryonic gestationFrom: Lynn Montgomery (apgar10@thebirthcentermt.com)Wed Apr 23 16:06:57 2008
Glen, Unfortunately, based on available data, this is likely an unfortunate coincidence. With the spontaneous loss rate approaching 25%, this unfortunate series of events is certainly possible. For several years out of training, I routinely obtained both maternal and paternal karyotypes of parents who lost three consecutive first trimester pregnancies - never found one abnormal. Because of my experience, as well as that in the literature, I have stopped checking, which saves a couple about $1,000. Just my thoughts, Lynn

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
