G1P0 spontanesous labor at term Pushes 1 hour with spontaneous vaginal birth and right 6 cm vaginal/ periurethral laceration up into space of retzius. I probe my finger into the laceration and am able to feel "serated" bone. Then realize that we are dealing with complete or partial separation of symphysis. Anyone experienced this before??? My first in 25 years. Still baffled as to why it happened? Thankfully I did not use forceps or this would have been blamed for the outcome. Ortho put a plate in the next day through phannemstiel incision.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
