Re: What's nextFrom: Richard D. Kaplan (rkaplan@triad.rr.com)Wed Apr 23 12:53:54 2008
I tend to agree with those who would follow the pregnancy with ante partum fetal testing. I would think that the risk of fetal demise with normal umbilical cord dopler studies, reactive NST, and 8/8 biophysical profile must be less than 1/3000. What is the risk to the 34 weeker in the NICU? There is of course the medical legal risk which is 100% if you leave the baby in and something goes wrong versus <1% if you deliver at 34 weeks and something goes wrong in the NICU. Richard Kaplan
> ----- Original Message ----- Not necessary to be aggressive at this point. How about following dopplers 2x per week. (very accurate for IUGR) If no oligohydramnios allow pregnancy to continue. No need or indication for steroids at this point. Also important to know if baby has fallen off growth curve or is this just a baby that is constitutionally small???

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
