Re: Complex Surgeries On-LineFrom: Robert J. Carpenter, Jr. MD, JD (zygote@icsi.net)Sun Apr 20 14:12:30 2008
The reality I see is that many individuals do not treat tissue kindly, and that is reflected in how they teach (or are examples of surgeons). Since I was trained as an anatomist and then when I finally got to the OR as a surgical student, we were taught good technique. Fight as I may with younger attendings about technique, it does not happen. I'm not sure it will ever return. A lament from the old! The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
