Translation Help - OBGYN TermsFrom: Don Miller (drmiller@enatal.com)Wed Apr 16 19:18:10 2008
I plan to make an English-only gestational age calculator available in French, Spanish, and German. The terms I want to use (Last Menstrual Period, Estimated Date of Delivery, Gestational Age) seem pretty straightforward (at least in my Googling) but I can't seem to find what common clinical abbreviations are used in other languages. Any help in correcting the terms themselves and especially the abbreviations used would be appreciated. Last Menstrual Period (LMP) La Dernière Période Menstruelle (DPM???) La Fecha de última Menstruación (FUM???) Letze Regelblutung (LR???) Estimated Date of Delivery (EDD) Date Prevue de l'Áccouchement (DPA???) La Fecha Estimada de Parto (FEP????) Voraussichtlichen Termin der Entbindung (VTE???) Gestational Age (GA) L'âge gestationnel (GA???) La Edad Gestacional (EG???) Gestational Alter (GA???) If EVERYONE else in the world uses LMP, EDD, and GA, as an international standard, then never mind. Thanks.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
