Re: Adenocarcinoma in situ of the cervixFrom: ainsron (ainsron@sbcglobal.net)Tue Apr 8 15:49:00 2008
I would offer a hysterectomy again. If you are getting dysplasia on the ECC, there is still something going on in that cervical canal that can't be treated without removing it. I don't think another LEEP is worth wasting your time/money on. It's pretty easy to miss adeno-CIS on a biopsy and margins aren't definitive. If she keeps her uterus, she is playing craps with her life. Personally, even though I grew up in Nevada, I am not a gambler. Ronald E. Hysterectomy advised but declined. Her paps have been normal since. Recently, she had abnormal uterine bleeding and a biopsy was disordered/proliferative endometrium with a suggestion of a polyp. SIS showed a polyp. At hysteroscopy, she indeed had a small polyp easily removed, and otherwise had a normal cervical canal and a normal uterine cavity. Her pathology: The polyp was indeed a polyp. Endometrium proliferative. ECC--mild dysplasia. What's next? Garry
