This is a multipart message in MIME format. I would offer it if she asked. Ronald E. Ainsworth, MD, FACOG From: ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net [mailto:ob-gyn-l@obgyn.net] On Behalf Of Glen Elrod Sent: Wednesday, April 02, 2008 11:27 AM To: Multiple recipients of list OB-GYN-L Subject: Re: STD screening But if the patient had done her 'research' and knew that HPV testing was available, would you offer it as an addition to her PAP or would you rely on the pap to tell you if she had effects of HPV (rather than colonization with HPV) Glen
>----- Original Message ---- This happens a few times a month for various reasons, the "worst" of which is the established 30 or 40 something whom I've known for years and her husband has had extramarital relations. I normally suggest GC/Chlamydia testing, and blood for HIV, RPR, and Hepatitis B (does anybody do other Hepatitides?). Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
