Re: Today was a GOOD day!From: Dr. John Provatopoulos B.Sc. M.D.C.M. F.R.S.C. (johnprov@sympatico.ca)Fri Feb 29 11:24:44 2008
Exactly Dan, most of us practise in the real world. Beat to beat variability may look a lot better on the external doppler based monitor than on an internal lead. On about a half dozen occassions I have been consulted at the last minute where I did an ARM for thick mec follwed by no reaction by the babby to an internal lead and a flat tracing, I recall three neonatal deaths under those circumstances, I am glad I called in peds for the delieveries.

Take care, John

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
