Anna,

You are either a master of sarcasm or an eternal optimist. I read it as you had a horrible experience - sort of like taking a ride in an out of control bumpy roller coaster, but everyone was ok at the end. First you were surprised and disappointed (bad). Then the patient was disappointed too and was sent home (bad). Then your were surprised again (good), but had to undertake a scary induction (bad). You then put the induction on hold (bad), but the patient decided to do her own thing anyway (good). You got her pushing in spite of the worrisome deep variables (bad). You made another decision to use the vaccuum with hesitation (bad), but the patient again decided to do something else (good). I am happy for the mother at the end, but both of you seemed to have gone through a lot of ups and downs. It was almost comical. It seemed like the doctors' actions were being ridiculed. I feel sorry for you! I apologize if I sound like I am raining on your parade.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
