If you scope her and find an 8cm. mass stuck to bowel and other things, you're going to be struggling to avoid a laparotomy anyway. Why spend the time?

Farting around?

Saw her Monday 7 PM, and it is Tuesday AM.

I do want the GI doc to clear her.

Contacting the original doctors at the large county hospital is a huge time sink with little benefit.

Yes, she needs surgery, and logistically, she may be better off to do it in the county health system to avoid huge bills, etc. While I would like to do the surgery, she will be better off there.

I would absolutely scope her first, and be prepared to open.

Bowel prep?

Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
