Hi folks, We can argue til the cows come home - about exactly who is or is not a "medical professional" It so happens that the list owner did indeed invite persons such as ob-gyn nurses, nurse practitioners and midwives to join this list at the beginning. I say this from comments made over the past 12 years since I started on "The List" (during the recovery from my hyst back in 1995). I also think that there are many on the list who DO consider these folks with other credentials besides MD to be part of the medical professionals involved with the medical care of women and respect their input. So, El, (and others out there who agree but let El make the statements about "going away" and "broomsticks" etc) - please put away the nasty comments. IF you don't like what the non-MD person says: ignore it, skip it, delete it - don't keep a long diatribe going back & forth, PLEASE! That "uses up" lots of "band width" - so ignore it and keep on going. And to the non MD person: also ignore it and keep on going.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
