I've not seen this but understand it.

Shorter surgery time, easier recovery, less risk--if you do less surgery, you lessen the downsides, to a degree.

Also, for a variety of reasons, a woman may want to keep her uterus.

I think that, after appropriate discussion and depending on the circumstances, that it is reasonable.
