Re: Family practice and OBFrom: Garry E. Siegel, M.D. (garrys@mindspring.com)Sun Dec 30 19:59:22 2007
I sure like what Anna said, i.e. if the FP needs an Ob to do a section, it is a consultation and evaluation. After all, the Ob doc is not a robot, meaning he should see the patient and make a judgement based on his own evaluation. If the Ob and FP work together often, I suspect that the FP's conclusion will mirror the Ob's. Obviously, there may be no-brainer situations (active herpes comes to mind) versus arrest disorders, especially of descent, in which the Ob doc's evaluation may not be the same as the FP's. Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
