really more a comment about healthcare and/or patients in general...I find more and more get information from internet/friends/etc. I wasn't implying that she had a callous provider, merely that I find it disturbing that people choose to get information from other sources....for whatever reason---i.e. no provider at all, scared to go to provider, too lazy to make appt.....my bad with the quotes (english was never my strongest subject :)---too much writing)

Do you feel putting the quotes around trusted reinforced a positive attribute re the health care provider you implied that she had and rejected? You might have entertained the thought the writer lacked insight, motivation or willingness to expend time and funds obtaining professional help from any number of sources other than a forum from which she is not a welcome member, and for whom numerous online forums exist, should she not wish to spend time or money in direct professional communication.
FWIW, I shared your original and current messages with three college English faculty...two female, one male...they all shared the view your wording and use of quotes was more llikely a negative than a positive or neutral usage. No intent to flame, but a response to your responses.

Wow..don't you find it a sad commentary that you reflexively assume the genesis of her problem is some unapproachable and irrefutable strawman villain you sneeringly, snidely, slightly condensceningly and simplistically describe as a "trusted" healthcare provider?
