Re: Difficult Case MicrocephalyFrom: Andrew Folley (agfolley@hotmail.com)Fri Dec 28 15:52:22 2007
17 year old white female at 25 weeks presents to triage Christmas Eve with onset of painless bright red bleeding. Normal ultrasound 5 weeks prior.Admitted and echo shows significant abruption of fundal placenta with subchorionic bleed 8x6cm size. Echo also reveals the head to be in the 3% with remaining body structures appropriate size for age. Doppler flow by MFM shows "no diastolic flow in UA" and "uterine artery notching". Patient received steroids and started on Procardia by mfm. Any thoughts or suggestions other than "really bad prognosis for baby"???? -----Original Message-----Fannin, #2720Houston, TX 77030(O) 713-795-4600(F) 713-795-4422 "Life is difficult"The Road Less Travelledby Scott Peck-- R. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
