The curmudgeon is back!

After many years of travel I am now land based and have returned to the forum. To my former students and colleagues - warm greetings.

I am now back to teaching as a volunteer faculty at University of Texas Medical School in Houston in their Problem Based Learning course. One of the students had the gall to accuse me of being too chalenging!

Back to more important things - I became incensed that in the November 2007 Green Journal was an article about medical abortion and clostridial shock and an editorial with the word abortion in the title. The Journal has accepted my letter to the editor stating that, because of the political connotation, the word "abortion" should not be used by medical professionals. I recommended that instead authors should use "termination of pregnancy."

I would appreciate comments by members of the forum.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
