Yes, Steroids can be used at any point if you believe the benefits on lung, gut, brain endothelial function is worth while. There is NO data that says it should not be done. The reason for no data is the great statistical difficulty of setting up a program (especially now) where RDS would be an endpoint when the numbers needed are hugh. After the Australian/NZ repetitive steroid trial, there should be no fear of a single dose of steroids if one is properly following your pt with A2 DM.

Unless one is willing to maintain patient on continuous EFM in house, there Richard is correct delivery. However, I follow the later is better and for babies such as described here, I monitor.

Enjoy the holidays regardless of faith or lack thereof.

would give steroids, and consider intervention 24-48 hours later if repetitive decels don't make you pull the trigger sooner. >

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
