Not routinely, but I do if needed, especially if using the mesh suspension techniques

So, as we're chatting, I recently attended a great ACOG course of prolapse, led by Mark Walters and others who were associated with the Cleveland Clinic. My group also has a new partner who trained there a few years ago, and ACOG just came out with the bulletin that cystoscopy is OK with hysterectomy (to keep the insurance companies and medical staff offices happy if we do them).

So, after learning some new tricks to better support the upper support (level 1), I have begun doing cystoscopy with TVH and LAVH, especially when placing McCall's sutures. I had not done cysto much since residency, and wasn't that comfortable with it, but, as expected, it is not too hard and has many similarities to hysteroscopy.

Are others doing this more, if at all?

Garry

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
