Sounds simple enough. However on a large scale with over 4.3 million births per year and 10-20% repeat csections and rising we are essentially culturing about 500,000 women without benefit. It is no doubt a small drop in the bucket of poor allocation of health care resources, but we need to start somewhere.

If they come in and decide to be vbac they are either treated as a full term ob with GBS undetermined in which case they are treated based on risk factors, ie >18 hrs ROM or temp >38 C

You've answered your own question. To prevent someone showing up as "GBS undetermined" and having to go thru the mental and paperwork gymnastics of deciding how to treat them.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
