A few years ago there was an article in the New England Journal of Medicine that looked at that issue, numbers needed to be treated to prevent a case. If you go to http://www.nejm.org and search on beta strep or prophylaxis, or some such, you should be able to find the article and down-load it.

I have not been able to find data regarding GBS screening in regards to the number needed to treat. Can someone help me out please.
