Re: ACOG Antepartum Record - Pain Scale?From: Charlie Chambers (cchamber@embarqmail.com)Wed Nov 21 11:53:25 2007
I tell you something that is even more idiotic. For some reason, our local hospital has a different prenatal flowsheet. In one corner is an assessment of "stress" with a scoring scale. I have no idea what I'm technically supposed to do if there score is a 12 or a 17. But, I do know that if I do not fill out this box, medical records will throw it back at me. Patients frequently ask me what there "score" means, and I reply that I have no earthly idea. If anything smacks of someone's personal pet project this would be it. The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
