Hi Garry,

I use Colpexin often. It is a good therapy for mild prolapse +/- levator weakness, particularly in women who are "between babies" and not ready for reconstructive surgery. As an adjunct to pelvic floor rehab, it is great because the exercises are built into the day and not a separate activity the patient has to do along with all their other daily chores.

I have not had great success in patients with severe, ie; grade 3 prolapse, or super thin levator muscles as it is difficult to retain with greater degrees of prolapse and levator muscle atrophy.

I hope this helps.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
