Re: In Reversal, Student Is Given Extra Exam Time to Pump Breast MilkFrom: Ina May Gaskin (midwifeim@earthlink.net)Thu Sep 27 14:12:59 2007
The judge was right to overturn the ruling, and we ought to be able to make breastfeeding jokes. But let's make the moms comfortable while we crack the jokes. Not everyone can pour out milk as fast as Anna, and we're far too serious about breastfeeding (which has a tendency to make it less fun). I want to see some on TV. It's the only way I know for us to get less weird about nipples. Oops! Taboo word! On the other hand, we could call them "breast warts", as German speakers do. Ina May (Still having the bends from seeing attractive, comfortable places for women to sit and feed babies in airports, malls and restaurants in Norway, Sweden and Austria for the last 2 1/2 weeks, and now I'm back in the US, where it's obvious that our society is geared to keep breastfeeders out of sight and to keep their numbers low). The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
