I feel ambivalent about her situation because I had a handicap myself when I had to take all those exam. I didn't have a medical diagnosis, but I was a very slow reader. I never asked for any special accommodations.

I never finished answering all the questions in any of the standardized tests (SAT, MCAT, USMLE & ABOG) except for the math part of SAT. I scored in the 99 percentile in the math SAT. I only did well with everything else. I always wondered how I would have scored if I actually had enough time to answer all the questions on the tests.

I didn't get the extra time because I didn't ask for it. On the other hand, I passed all my exams, so I didn't care. But this Ms Currier is on the cusp of passing. Who knows what's on her mind? The moral of this story: You don't get what you want unless you ask for it.

The American Medical Association is no longer designating CME hours for AMA Category II CME credit. However, physicians themselves may self designate learning activities as Category II CME credit hours if they feel it is of sufficient educational merit and meets the formal definitions of continuing medical education. OBGYN.net believes these interaction in this forum meets these criteria. For further information see the AMA web site.
